Leland Harvey Turner , VRHS Class of 1949
ALBANY - Leland Harvey Turner, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in Sarasota, Fla. He was born on June 10, 1931, in Wyandotte, Mich., to Leland and Hilda (Webber) Turner. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and worked as an engineer for New York State. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a Shriner member. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling to Europe. He and his wife enjoyed wintering in Sarasota, Fla. for over 20 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Caroline Gade Turner, and his sister, Nancy Lee Larkins. He is survived by his brother, David (Vicki) Turner of Beaver Falls, Pa.; sister, Olive Jane Snow of Sherwood, Ark., several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leland's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church, 303 Sand Creek Road, Albany 12205.
