Melvin Bellamy Obituary Bellamy, Melvin C. RENSSELAER Melvin Clifton Bellamy, 57, died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at his home. A lifelong resident of Rensselaer, Melvin was the fourth of 10 children born to Oscar and Carrie Bellamy. He is survived by his mother, Carrie Bellamy; four brothers, Oscar (Mary), Ronald, Derome (Lashana), and David; and four sisters, Darlene Thomas, Pearl Haggray, Leslie (Anthony) Fiol and Rev. Carolyn Lester. He also leaves extended family members and many close friends. Funeral at noon Friday, October 22 with viewing from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 58 Alexander St. in Albany. The Rev. Robert Dixon will officiate. Interment New Rural Cemetery, Rensselaer, N.Y.
